This challenge was to read 20 books from your TBR list between December 1st, 2009 and December 31st, 2010. AND you’re supposed to refrain from buying books until you have read or attempted to read all 20 of your chosen books, unless you need to buy a book for a book group. You also have to write a blog post about each book as you finish (or decide you can’t finish) it.
I initially chose 20 books to read but gave myself leeway to read books I didn’t list and to buy books as well if I wanted to.
These are the books I’ve read, all of which I owned before December 1st 2009:
- Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel
- Be Near Me by Andrew O’Hagan
- Drood by Dan Simmons
- Let it Bleed by Ian Rankin
- Black and Blue by Ian Rankin
- The Pale Horse by Agatha Christie
- Can Any Mother Help Me? by Jenna Bailey – see also here
- The Hanging Garden by Ian Rankin
- The Warrior’s Princess by Barbara Erskine
- The Franchise Affair by Josephine Tey
- Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? by Agatha Christie
- Hearts and Minds by Amanda Craig
- Faithful Unto Death by Caroline Graham
- Bad Science by Ben Goldacre
- The Falls by Ian Rankin
- Resurrection Men by Ian Rankin
- Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie
- Suite Française by Irène Némirovsky
- Portrait of an Unknown Woman by Vanora Bennett
- Fleshmarket Close by Ian Rankin
- The Naming of the Dead by Ian Rankin
- The ABC Murders by Agatha Christie
- Exit Music by Ian Rankin
