I took this photo of Lucy in our little wood and it reminded me of one of Kipling’s Just So Stories - The Cat That Walked by Himself.

wow, that is so funny. you should have turned her around…lol
It is a lovely picture. Ok, it is a cat, but still lovely.
Caite I should have been at the other end of the path – but although she is a cat who walks by herself she is also a cat who walks towards the camera every time she sees it in my hand! I have to sneak up to her to take a photo without her knowing I’m there – usually only possible when she’s asleep and sometimes not even then.
Ha! Yes, I was thinking the same, turn her around
That’s a great story, we teach it to our pre-school kids.
Here’s mine – slightly different to the usual photo but I wanted so much to share this to everyone, it’s such an important book for women.

Thank you!
What a delightful picture! And one of my favourite stories.
Another example of life imitating art. What a literary cat Lucy is.
Margaret – That’s a lovely picture of Lucy. Isn’t it interesting how many parallels there are between fiction and reality…
Great capture of fiction and reality crossing paths (couldn’t resist the pun)
Lucy looks like a sweetie pie!
Very charming pictures!
About 10 years ago, my h and I house sat in Prince Edward Island for the summer. The 2 cats of the house used to follow us out on walks to the beach.
I just love this! What kind of trees are they?
The trees are nearly all sycamores in this part of the garden.
I love the way you imitated the picture. Quite lovely.
As a non-cat person I’ve never given up trying to understand why ‘the cat that walked by herself’ describes me to a tee.
