Oh my gosh, that is so bizarre — and compelling! Great choice for Wordless Wednesday! I’m speechless.
I love masks – there is one looking down on me from the wall as a type – but even for me this is mind blowing. Too long since I’ve been in that lovely gallery. I must do something about it.
Terri – this sight struck me as so strange, yet compelling.
Table Talk – mind blowing is right! I was amazed.
How unique and interesting! And yes, somewhat mind blowing! Thanks for sharing the pictures!
Not masks, but severed (severred?) heads. Brrrrr!
What wonderful pictures – such a bizarre sight!
Wow. That is very cool. I wish I could see that in person.
I live near Glasgow so I have seen it in person. You probably won’t be at all surprised to hear it’s even stranger to be standing underneath them, looking up. But it actually feels benign and exhilarating. They float like ballons and lend Kelvingrove a party atmosphere.
Look closely and you’ll see the faces have many different expressions. My favourites are the laughing ones which remind me of a laughing Buddha.
I think this is one of the strangest exhibitions I’ve seen. We were at the Art Gallery with our grandson to see the Dr Who Exhibition and this was a bonus – the museum and gallery are well worth a visit. We also went to the Museum of Transport.
Thanks for sharing! I’d love to see that in person.

How strange and also creepy. It reminds me of the heads carved into the ceiling of Wawel castle in Krakow. http://www.krakow-info.com/komnaty.htm .
Though interesting.
