I love rain and even thunder and lightening (as long as I'm at home), but I don't like the more severe stuff--too much rain too fast or high winds! The Wilson book sounds good by the way. That is scary! I'm glad the water didn't get up to the house. I spent a good part of my childhood living in a flood plain and it was always frightening with the water would get so close to the house. I had friends who weren't as lucky as we were and had to deal with the aftermath of the flooding in the house. The 1920's were such an interesting time. After The Victorians sounds like a good one.
