Each Week for Teaser Tuesday the idea is to pick two sentences from any page in the book you’re currently reading without giving away “spoilers”.
Once again my teaser sentences are from Les Miserables (page 840):
To weave a sound rope out of a blanket, bore holes in a door, cook up false papers, make skeleton keys, cut through leg-irons, hide everything and get away using the rope, it takes skill to do all that. You’ve got to know your business.
Whew!
Wonderful teaser. I think I am about do for a re-read, its been ten years or so.
Lisa I’ve been surprised at just how much I’m enjoying Les Miserables. A ten year gap is just about right for a re-read.
Nice teaser! I almost got to see this in London several years ago (13 years?! ok, more than “several”). I wish I had!
I’ve never read it. It’s one of those books that is on my mental TBR list. More like as “I’ll read it some day” list. And I will read it… some day. =)
Great teaser, descriptive!
Pretty intense!!!
Wow – I love that teaser! I hate to admit that I have no idea what Les Miserables is about!
Here’s my Teaser!
Wow, that almost makes me want to read Le Miz!
Checked this out from the Library. I am going to need a few renews!
I’ve never read Les Miserables, but I guess I need to put it on my (long long) list now, heh. Great teaser!
