I enjoyed both (book and movie) but felt the movie to be centered more around the male character. The last ten to twenty percent of the book is not in the movie, which leaves out one key event that makes the book (at least to me) a bit darker (and more interesting) than the movie.

I read Of Human Bondage when I was in high school and for some reason I just loved it. And the author. And the writing. He is one of those authors that I was afraid to read anything else by him in case I didn’t like it but looks like I will be branching out. Thanks!

I really enjoyed this book too. It had so much going on that was interesting — the religious/mystical element of it and the colonial relations element of it especially.

I haven’t read this yet, but will do one day. I have seen the film and reccomend it- the scenery is spectacular and the acting pretty good.
