Presents! A Booking Through Thursday post

It’s Debs’ birthday today. This inspired her to ask today’s question–
What, if any, memorable or special book have you ever gotten as a present? Birthday or otherwise. What made it so notable? The person who gave it? The book itself? The “gift aura?”
When I was little and was asked what I wanted for a present I always said “books please” - still do actually. When I read this question these three books came to my mind. They are Bible Stories for Children: presents from my parents on my sixth, seventh and eighth birthdays.
Ah…now I know how you got that name for your blog. ;P

Isn’t it wonderful to have books from your childhood? I still have a few of mine, and I really treasure them.
Books are always on my wish list, too!
As several others have said, it’s nice discovering the story behind your blog name.
My wonderful husband gave me a first edition of To Kill a Mockingbird (my all-time favorite) book. I was beyond thrilled both about the book and because it took him months of searching eBay to find it!

My favourite gift book is my beautifully illustrated copy of An Anthology of Aesop’s Animal Fables, given to me a few years ago by my very dear friend Heather.
